Big Sky Quality Wool is located in the heart of Broadus Montana. Our full service mill is equiped with a Davis & Fuber Double Carder, a Warner & Swasey Servo (Pin) Drafter, and new this year - a spinning frame. We now offer you 'grease to yarn' fiber processing.

We take pride in every process and it shows in the final product.Really_Beautiful.JPG

Where has the time gone

Becky_Ranch_Photos/pestycat.JPGWhile we were trying to shear one of our alpacas this morning, Rusty was trying to help?
SurprisedIt has been awhile since the last blog.  We have gone through sheep shearing.  Carolyn and I, respectively, began lambing in March at our ranches.  We began with 70 degree temps but within 24 hours we had to handle three major blizzard within thirteen days.  We became very creative trying to find a new spot to put the ewe and lambs.  Almost to the point we needed to build shelves to put them.  All is well.  Carla began her lamb in May.  She too had weather conditions to handle: rain, cold, and wind.
Charlotte and Sarah went to Estes Park Wool Market in June.   This was Sarah's first trip to Estes Park, CO area.  She was fastinated and very interested in all the livestock vendors.  Overall, they did very well.
Until next time....have a fun filled summer. R
